Job Description

Job overview and responsibilities

The Analyst will support the Network Operations team by collecting and analyzing data, building and maintaining dashboards, and providing decision support to United’s leaders. Excellent time management and communication skills are keys to success since the role will require multi-tasking on several initiatives simultaneously.

  • Curate relevant data from multiple sources, and use in creating analyses and models to identify key issues and trends.
  • Review existing dashboards and performance indicators to modify, enhance, and develop new reports and metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve United’s NOC functions and provide data-driven insights through analytics.
  • Build predictive models and analyze results for dissemination of insights to United leadership.
  • Prepare presentations for United leadership and external stakeholders.

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd – a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.

Qualifications

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field like Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of analytics experience
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of data structures, relationships, and efficient transformations.
  • Knowledge and application of data visualization best practices.
  • Familiarity with writing complex queries and procedures using both traditional and modern technologies/languages (i.e. SQL, Python, Spark, etc.).
  • Data visualization skills using one or more reporting tools (i.e. Spotfire, Tableau, etc.) to produce meaningful, elegant dashboards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree in a quantitative field.
  • Airline experience or knowledge of airline operations.
  • Familiarity with various parts of the data ecosystem (acquisition, engineering, storage, management, analysis, visualization, and deployment).
  • Exposure to statistical and analytical methods
